Formatted YAML
Converts one document using JSON-compatible values and string mapping keys. Numbers that would change during conversion, negative zero, nonfinite values, timestamps, binary data, sets, ordered maps, pairs, merge keys, cycles and unknown tags are rejected. Quote values only when text is intended; this changes their type. Ordinary aliases are expanded for JSON. Comments, quote style and numeric spelling are not retained. Limits: 2 MiB of text, 50,000 expanded values and 100 nesting levels.


 
How to use Vscode YAML Formatter
 
  1. Paste one YAML document and select the indentation width.
  2. Read the normalized YAML output. Comments, original quotes and numeric spelling are not retained.
  3. Resolve any unsupported-value or syntax error before copying. Keep the original document separately.
  4. Copy the current completed result and verify it in the receiving application.

This browser tool works with the supported JSON-compatible subset of YAML described above. A completed result means that this conversion succeeded; it does not validate an application schema, a deployment configuration or another programming language’s parser.
